Melia Hotels International has appointed Lisa Carter, previously from Manchester Central, as global account manager for its UK Global MICE account team.
She joins Melia with the hotel operator in the midst of a hotel expansion strategy which includes the opening of the Innside Manchester hotel in May. Future openings are planned for Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh in 2017.
Carter worked at Manchester Central, as international sales manager, for six years, and will now lead Melia’s global account management for the North of England, Scotland, and Ireland.
“I am looking forward to the challenge of bringing the Melia brand closer to those clients based outside of the South of England,” said Carter.
