The manager at a teambuilding venue has insisted her staff had no knowledge of an “abhorrent” Isis-style execution video made on her premises.

Simone Schehtman, manager at Teamworks Karting in Fazeley Street, Digbeth, said the Isis-style mock beheading, filmed by HSBC workers, was carried out behind the back of her staff.

She said her workers have been scouring booking records to try to find out when the HSBC group responsible for the video were at the track.

HSBC has sacked six staff after video footage, posted online, showed five men in black overalls and balaclavas laughing, as they stood over an Asian colleague who was kneeling in an orange jumpsuit. It was filmed during a teambuilding day at the venue.

Ms Schehtman told CN: “We are shocked, appalled, and repulsed by this incident.

“We are the UK’s leading indoor karting company, with an iconic national brand for corporate hospitality – teambuilding, client entertainment and private leisure. We have hosted successful events for over half a million customers, having thoroughly enjoyed the highest-quality karting possible.

“The video was filmed in our changing rooms, which, of course, for privacy reasons are not monitored.”

A spokesman for HSBC said: “We do not tolerate inappropriate behaviour. This is an abhorrent video and HSBC would like to apologise for any offence caused.”
