Events agency, Make Events, has appointed Adele Woods as its new managing director.

Woods joins Make Events at a pivotal time for the business, as it builds on its recent rebrand and positions itself for its next phase of growth and innovation.

With over 25 years of experience in the events industry, Woods brings a unique combination of agency-side and client-side expertise that will help shape the agency’s future.

She spent 14 years at Marks & Spencer HQ, leading events and regional marketing, before founding a boutique agency in London.

Following her return to the North, she has held senior leadership positions at Inconnection and First Event, where she most recently served as chief operating officer. In this role, she oversaw the agency’s day-to-day operations and helped the agency navigate a period of rapid growth including the expansion of its service offering.

Woods said: “The agency’s energy, creativity, and focus on operational excellence really resonated with me. I’m especially proud to be part of a business that champions female leadership at the highest level and I look forward to working with the team as we scale, evolve, and deliver even more extraordinary experiences for our clients.”

Holly Moore, founder and CEO of Make Events, added: “Adele’s deep industry knowledge, combined with her passion for people and operational excellence, makes her the perfect fit for this role. Her appointment marks an important step as we continue to build on our rebrand and drive Make Events forward into its next chapter.`’

She added: “As I transition fully into my role as Group CEO and Joel as co- director, we are excited to dedicate more time to working directly with our clients, supporting the growing demand for our services and expanding our portfolio. Adele’s appointment also strengthens our commitment to championing female leadership, and I’m proud to be working alongside another inspirational woman as we build our board and develop the next generation of female leaders within our industry.”

This announcement marks another key milestone in Make Events’ journey, as the agency continues to push creative boundaries while delivering experiences for leading brands.

It also solidifies Make Events’ dedication to empowering women, nurturing talent, and setting a new standard for female-led leadership in the events industry.
