Merlin Entertainments’ surrey-based theme park, Thorpe Park, has signed up entertainment company Lionsgate UK to present its horror movie themed Fright Nights, ahead of Halloween (31 October).
For the first time corporate guests will have exclusive access to their own RIP Lounge, providing a touch of luxury to the evening of terror, complete with soft furnishings, a pop-up bar and a selection of bowl food. Guests will also be able to stay over in Thorpe Park’s new onsite accommodation the Crash Pad.
The partnership brings about a complete overhaul of the Fright Nights Halloween events, which will now feature immersive live action mazes based on some of the world’s most iconic horror films. The new mazes will be based on You’re Next, My Bloody Valentine 3D, cult classic The Blair Witch Project and The Cabin in the Woods. Making a return will be the live action horror maze Saw Alive.
The Fright Nights events will run on 5- 6, 11-13, 18-20 October and 25 October- 3 November 2013.
“We are excited about this partnership with Lionsgate,” says the park’s Marketing Director Jason Wills. “A team of specially-trained scare actors is being recruited in to deliver the series of events.”
In addition to live action mazes, visitors will be able to experience some of Europe’s most thrilling rollercoasters in the dark including The Swarm, Saw-The Ride, Stealth, Colossus and Nemesis Inferno.
