Leicester Shire Promotions will brief key UK conference organisers on the growing profile of Leicester and Leicestershire as a prime location for business tourism during a dinner on 24 April 2012.
The focus of the event will be to discuss how Leicester and Leicestershire venues are promoted to the conferencing and events market, and in particular, what the Central Conference Hub – Cultural Quarter and city centre venues – offers for professional conference organisers looking for new and unusual locations and venues to successfully host their events.
MP for Leicester South, Jon Ashworth says: “Leicester has a diverse range of venues for conference organisers and is growing its reputation as a location that successfully hosts major conference and events. The event at the House of Commons provides us with an opportunity to explore ways in which we can work closely with professional conference organisers to raise our profile in the UK.”
Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions, Martin Peters added: “At a time of dynamic change within the meetings sector, it is clear that only a few UK destinations are continuing to invest in their offering for conference and event organisers. Leicester and Leicestershire is one such destination with several local venues investing in their facilities including, in particular, the Athena conference and banqueting venue, the iconic Curve theatre and brand new Ramada Encore, all of whom will be represented at the House of Commons event.”
Leicester Shire Promotions recently announced that Leicester has been chosen to host the national ceremony of VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence on May 2012.
