1. King Charles II is back
Some 350 years since he restored the Monarchy in England, King Charles II was restored back to life this week. The former Head of State popped into the Royal Hospital Chelsea, a venue that is celebrating its 325th birthday this year.
2. Labour will bring big bucks to Liverpool
After much kerfuffle, the Labour Party Conference is set to go ahead. Being hosted at the ACC Liverpool, the city can expect an economic boost of £17m.
3. Birmingham is getting a new conference centre
As if the NEC and its sisters weren’t enough, the Cairn Group announced this week that it will be opening a new conference and events centre. We’ve only seen renderings, but it looks pretty good.
4. You can sleep for solitary pound
And no, it’s not in an alleyway. A new hotel in Belfast is giving people the chance to win a night’s stay for only £1. Sound good? You’ve only got until Monday to enter.

The Starwood hotel group are launching a new “urban lifestyle” hotel group across the UK by combining ye olde buildings with surrounding local heritage. It’s much cooler than it sounds here.
