The Kent Event Centre, the commercial arm of the Kent County Agricultural Society, has announced that it will host the Kent Festival, which will take place from 15-17 November.
The event aims to raise money and build awareness for Line of Duty, a charity that supports emergency services personnel and veterans. The Kent Festival originates from Matt Colley who was a reservist in the Armed Forces. Colley became injured and was unable to access medical treatment through the army, therefore he had to go through the NHS.
As a result, Colley set up the Line of Duty Charity which provides medical and mental health support for individuals within the emergency services and armed forces.
The Kent Festival is estimated to attract up to 10,000 people and will feature music from a range of tribute acts such as Pink, Little Mix, Phil Collins, Madness, Take That, Bon Jovi and Killers. There will also be a Greatest Showman themed circus tent which will include aerial artists, stilt walkers, fire shows, animatronics and a funfair.
Kerrie Hirst, event manager, Kent Festival, said: “The Line of Duty charity does such amazing work and it’s an honour to be working on this event. Kent Event Centre is such a unique venue and offered us the versatility we needed with different spaces and lots of capacity to make the Kent Festival a success.”
Ellie Pannell, deputy manager, Kent Event Centre, said: “As a charity we understand the challenges charities are facing today, particularly when it comes to funding and diversifying income. We strive to assist other charities in achieving their objectives wherever we can and are excited to be working with Line of Duty and the Kent Festival to put on what we are sure will be a fantastic, family event.”
