Hospitality provider Keith Prowse has warned UK companies of the danger of being mis-sold corporate hospitality.
The World Athletics Championships 2017, the latest addition to the UK’s Golden Decade of Sport, has spawned a flurry of activity by unscrupulous suppliers seeking to cash in, according to the Prowse agency.
The hospitality industry is largely unregulated and telesales calls offering men’s 100 metre final corporate hospitality packages have already been received by corporates according to Keith Prowse MD, Andrew Hodgkins. “Official suppliers have not been appointed,” Hodgkins adds.
“Any purported ‘corporate hospitality packages’ are therefore speculative and should not be purchased under any circumstances,” he says, advising those keen to buy corporate hospitality to source from official suppliers appointed by the rights holders of the event.
The UK’s Golden Decade of Sport will realise a host of corporate hospitality opportunities; from 2012’s Olympic and Paralympic Games, 2013’s Champions League Final, The Commonwealth Games in 2014 and the Rugby Union World Cup in 2015. The World Athletics Championships in 2017 is the latest addition to the Golden Decade which concludes with the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019.
