The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) has appointed John Langford as Director of Concerts, Events and Ticketing.
Langford was previously Chief Operating Officer of Big Concerts and brings with him experience in attracting and negotiating contracts with artists as well as knowledge of the ticketing market.
In the newly-created role, Langford will be responsible for overseeing and developing the sales activity within the concerts, events and ticketing sector and to position The Hydro, and wider SECC campus, alongside the best premier live entertainment venues internationally.
“John brings particular expertise in the areas in which we perm and has a proven international track record of building successful relationships in the concert and ticketing business,” says Chief Executive of the SECC, John Sharkey. “He will play a major part in our commitment to make The Hydro a top five world arena and we are delighted John has agreed to join us at such an exciting time.”
