Journalist and broadcaster Janet Street-Porter spoke to a packed seminar theatre on Day 2 of International Confex and championed the need for experiences that take people outside of their comfort zone.
“You need to offer more than the predictable, reliable and familiar,” she said. “To have a memorable experience changes how I see the world for the rest of the year,” she said. “We are no longer just buying stuff, but instead we are now spending money on doing things.”
Street-Porter spent time discussing the ‘Year of the Woman’ and all that it promises, sharing her concerns about the continued gender pay gap and absence of females at board level and in parliament. She added: “Women need to learn to be brave, take risks and shout out.”
