The London Hilton on Park Lane was the host venue this year for The Anne Frank Trust’s Annual Lunch to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2019.

The event was compered by Jo Coburn and guest speaker was broadcaster and author James O’Brien, who said: “Most prejudice is born not from nastiness but from lack of understanding. What the Anne Frank Trust does in its very essence is to help people to the light.

“Accusations don’t achieve anything: we need illumination and enlightenment.”

Now in its 17th year, the Annual Lunch also heard from three young Anne Frank ambassadors and has so far raised a £442,000 this year, with more donations still to come.

Those wishing to contribute can still make donations online here The trust has also produced a film.

A Gala Dinner is planned to mark what would have been Anne Frank’s 90th birthday: 12 June 2019.
