This year’s Mistletoe Christmas Party at London’s Tobacco Dock on 4 December was attended by 350 meeting and event professionals.

Mistletoe 2012 was jointly organised by Meeting Professionals International (MPI) UK and Ireland, International Special Events Society (ISES) and motivational association SiTE, along with supporters The Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) and events industry association Eventia.

The third annual Mistletoe party was a chance for the industry to come together and celebrate the successes of 2012.

Guests were entertained by Urban Soul Orchestra, Elegant Entertainment and Yursura, and could sample the best of the industry’s creative services and suppliers, including build your own perfume with The Perfume Studio, gourmet popcorn from Joe and Seph’s, digital badge making and graffiti wall from Luma and green screen photography by PJL Productions.

Guests were treated to catering from The Recipe including seared fillet of beef, tuna steak burger canapés, bowls of chicken katsu curry and gorgonzola and walnut gnocchi.

The event also raised £650 for two important charities: Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN) by a Giving Tree and raffle.

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust is the MPI UK and Ireland President’s charity and is the only UK charity dedicated to women and their families affected by cervical cancer and cervical abnormalities. MIMN was founded by leading figures from the UK conference and events industry with the aim of raising funds for worthy causes relevant to the events industry.

“Mistletoe 2012 provided members of every association the opportunity to network in a festive environment,” says President ISES UK Chapter, Philip Atkins. “I’d like to thank all the sponsors for their enormous support and creative input that made the evening so special.”
