The Institute of Travel and Meetings (ITM) has appointed Alison Churchill as its Midlands Regional Chairman.

Churchill has worked for the NHS, local government and now the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, however it was working at the BBC that generated her interest in business travel.

Her current role heading up the procurement team at the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board has meant that her involvement in the business travel industry has increased and she has been an active part of the ITM over recent years. As a fully qualified member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), she is keen to further develop the strategic partnership between the ITM and CIPS in the region and deliver educational events which support both professions.

In her role as Regional Chairman for ITM in the Midlands, Churchill is tasked with leading the regional committee in their efforts to support and deliver value to the local ITM members.

“I am thrilled that Alison has been appointed to take up this post,” ITM CEO, Simone Buckley, says. “Alison is passionate about ITM and developing the activity in the Midlands and I’m confident that with her drive and energy she will help us achieve this.”

The Institute of Travel and Meetings UK and Ireland, previously the Institute of Travel Management, was established over 50 years ago to promote knowledge, networks and opportunities within the business travel sector. The association presently represents over 1,000 professional buyers and suppliers with a travel and meetings spend in excess of £34bn per annum.
