The Holiday Inn in Peterborough will be the host venue, 19 January 2018, for the inaugural New Year’s Honours of the Alliance of Independent Event Agencies (AIEA).
Forty suppliers took the opportunity to vote for AIEA members across 15 award categories.
The AIEA is an alliance of independent and privately owned event agencies working in the meetings and events sector.
Since launching last February, the industry association has attracted 30 agency members and held a range of events, including a series of educational workshops covering everything from Data Protection to TOMS.
A series of irreverent categories include ‘Funky Office’ and the ‘Willy Wonka’ wward for agents who get most excited by chocolate.
With a speed dating supplier one-to-one taking place in advance of the awards, the event is designed to be educational as well as fun, and provide members and suppliers vital networking and the opportunity to look at new business relationships.
Paula Kelsey (pictured), vice-chair of the alliance said: “We have been overwhelmed with the number of suppliers wanting to work with the AIEA since the launch and the New Year’s Honours seemed a good way to connect lots of the members with suppliers in a new and exciting format.”
The awards are also fancy dress and Kelsey says she is looking forward to seeing how creative the industry can be with the brief.
Independent Agencies are invited to get involved and full details of the benefits of membership are available online at: www.aiea.co.uk
