Safer Events – A Framework for Action, Hire Space’s white paper detailing its accreditation scheme for venues and events organisers, was launched last week and has been downloaded over 500 times in the first five working days of publication.
The paper states the measures required of venues and events organisers to maximise the safety of event attendees, and draws on the latest advice issued by public health bodies, industry associations and the government.
The accreditation covers six areas: delegate and staff screening, staff training and policy, social distancing, personal protective equipment (PPE), sterilisation and cleaning alongside hybrid event provision.
The Safer Events initiative is informed by senior corporate planners through its consultation group. Businesses include Hearst UK, Reuters, Morningstar, NAVEX Global, Kennedys Law LLP and Clearview Financial Media.
Accreditations will be independently undertaken by a fully qualified Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Venues looking to become accredited can apply here. Organisers wanted to certify their events can enquire here.
Venues and organisers are able to source equipment required for running safer events from the Safer Events shop, which sources items including testing kits, floor markings, brass keys and hand sanitiser stations. A contribution of 10% of PPE sales will be made to the NHS.
