London-based startup Hire Space, an online platform and industry-venue finder, is inviting its users to become shareholders in its first crowdfunding campaign.
The move follows a year in which Hire Space raised over £1m in funding from angel investors, expanded to four new areas in the UK and tripled in size.
Money raised in the campaign will be used alongside the latest £750,000 raised in a fundraising round, and go toward UK expansion over the next year, pilot the concept in key cities such as Paris, New York and Hong Kong and place the business in a position to expand globally.
Any new shareholders will join Hire Space’s existing backers, which include angel investors Karen Hanton MBE, founder of TopTable.
Edward Poland, COO and co-founder of Hire Space says: “Crowdfunding as a next step in our journey seemed like a no-brainer for us, the collaborative nature lends itself perfectly to our mission and will allow us to connect more closely with our users and the events industry as a whole.”
Hire Space is holding two events at its new London offices this week to launch the campaign and also celebrate its third birthday.
