Harrogate International Centre (HIC) will host the Townswomen’s Guilds’ annual conference in 2013.

The women’s group has over 30,000 members across the country, and 2,000 women are expected to attend the conference at HIC in June 2013.

HIC last hosted the conference in 2006, and following a marketing campaign including a direct mail showcasing of how HIC could cater for their conference, and an official preview of the new Halls H and G in November 2011 to see the new facilities, organisers of the Townswomen’s Guilds chose to return to the HIC.

“Attracting the Townswomen’s Guilds to Harrogate shows how direct marketing can win new business. At every step we promoted the town along with the venue, people come to Harrogate for the venue and the town  and we continually try to present a cohesive and developed offering to potential clients,” says Deputy Director of HIC, Simon Kent.

“At our AGM at HIC in 2006, we were impressed by the facilities, efficiency and co-operation displayed by the officials and staff and look forward to a repetition next year,” says TG National Chairman, Pauline Myers.
