The Hotel Booking Agency Association (HBAA) recently concluded its Annual Forum at the Crowne Plaza in Stratford Upon Avon.
The event focused on how to make the most of RFPs, millennials and government marketing opportunities. It saw over 150 delegates attend a packed agenda of panel debates and speakers.
Requests for proposals were one key topic, with a series of audience polls providing analysis into the different approaches between venues and agents. Jamie Ades of Visit Britain gave a talk on ‘adding value to support international event growth’, providing some expert advice on marketing strategy.
‘Venues4Millenials’ was another highlight, taking an in depth look at what the new generation of delegates expect from an event. Millennial event planners are keenly aware of minimising their carbon footprint, with demands rising for biodegradable event materials and ethically sourced produce.
There were also campfire sessions on industry topics such as commission, recruitment and social media, before renowned comedian Marc Hogan closed the proceedings for the Forum with his Edinburgh Festival act.
Louise Goalen, HBAA chair (pictured), said: “With a packed programme of inspirational, informative and insightful presentations, debates and roundtables, the 2018 Annual Forum truly lived up to this year’s theme of ‘Building on Success’.”
