Guinness World Records will be donating 100 books to Better World Books UK, for every official record attempt at their stand, 18C, at International Confex this week.

Partnering with Better World Books UK, GWR’s donation marks Engage to Give; the CSR-focused arm of the Engage programme. Visitors will have the opportunity to break the GWR title for the fastest time to set up and topple a set of dominoes (individual).

Guinness World Record’s Engage programme launched last year – delivering world-class team-building events within the MICE sector, the programme is designed to energise audiences and fire up teams and unite everyone behind a common cause.

Engage to Give presents the opportunity to give a little back to local communities or charity partners through record-breaking.

Better World Books UK helps rehome books, supporting literacy and education initiatives by selling and donating books that are able to be reused. As part of BWB’s free book giveaway event for World Book Day, the company will be constructing a throne using the books Guinness World Records donate and inviting the public to attend.

Paul O’Neill, GWR’s VP of creative said: “Engage offers all event organisers and planners the opportunity to make their event completely unique through record-breaking. Whether the aim is to unite employees or celebrate the team’s achievements we can find a record title to suit. So, come along and have a go at being Officially Amazing.”

Liz Agostini, Confex event director added: “Guinness World Records participation at Confex 18 with their Engage programme is a perfect embodiment of the ways in which our creative forward-thinking industry can effect real change for good. This is gamification at its most compelling with CSR sitting firmly at the core, all corporates, agencies and NFPs should be looking at how to incorporate this into their events.”
