A hundred #eventprofs gathered at 30 Euston Square earlier this week to hear how social media can impact event marketing and brand amplification.

Entitled ‘Social Media Strategy For Events’, the gathering organised by Eventopedia was the fifth in a sequence of sold out ‘Eventopedia Discovery’ and ‘Eventopedia VIP’ events delivered in 2015.

Event planners, PAs and venue marketers heard from Eventopedia partners TweetWall Pro, 30 Euston Square, Green Light Events and Consorcio Social, who all shared their knowledge and insights with the audience.

The event was part of London’s Social Media Week and speakers offered several case studies as take aways to apply to their own businesses.

Daniel Halpin of Green Light Events said: “Social Media is as important for event marketing these days as it is for creating the right delegate experience during the event.”

Ian Sullivan, CEO of Paperhat Consorcio added: “Social Media management has become an important part of the marketing mix for all businesses, yet it’s often overlooked. Sometimes, companies designate social media to a junior member of the team who doesn’t have the necessary communications training. As the case studies demonstrate, this can have negative brand implications if the right tone of voice and approach to customer service are not understood.”

Eventopedia committee member, head of business development and events at Hawksmoor Partners, Harriet Mallinson said: “All platforms of corporate communication should be managed carefully and professionally to ensure consistent and appropriate brand communication.”
