Event management agency Grass Roots has appointed John Bunting as its Commercial Director.
Bunting will start his new role on 9 September based at the company’s headquarters in Tring, Hertfordshire. He will lead Grass Roots’ sales and business development efforts and will report to the Group’s CEO, Richard Bandell.
Over the last 13 years Bunting has held various roles at EY, the professional services organisation formerly known as Ernst & Young. He has also previously worked for Bass PLC and Scottish & Newcastle PLC.
The appointment of Bunting follows other recent arrivals at Grass Roots, including Group CEO Richard Bandell and Jeremy Brown, the new leader for the events and communications division of Grass Roots meetings and events based in Marlow.
Bunting will sit on the Grass Roots group board with CEO Richard Bandell, COO Andy Lister and FD Russell Clutton, supported by a non-executive contingent of business and industry experts and representatives from shareholder WPP PLC.
“I’m delighted to be taking on this new challenge and join the Grass Roots family,” says Bunting. “I’m looking forward to leading a winning team in the next stage of the development of this great company.”
Group CEO Richard Bandell says he is looking forward to working with Bunting.
“John has an excellent and proven track record alongside the vision, tenacity and passion that we are looking for in a Commercial Director for Grass Roots. We’re excited to welcome him on board and have him further support our talented team in order to realise our vision for growth across the company,” he says.
