Sweden’s second city Gothenburg is to welcome the Associations World Congress for the first time, in April 2019.
The agreement between the organiser, Association of Association Executives (AAE), and the three counterparts from Sweden was signed at ibtm in Barcelona, 29 November. It marks the end of a bidding process that has taken several years.
“For three years we have put in a lot of effort to convince the organisers. Now we are extremely pleased that the Associations World Congress will be arranged in the very heart of Scandinavia”, said Per Ankaer, director of sales at MCI Nordics, who is the local congress organiser.
Gothenburg has a strong sustainability focus and is proving increasingly popular with visiting associations.
