YTL Hotels’ The Glasshouse, has been named Best Hotel Whisky Bar in Edinburgh and regional winner for the intimate Weddings Award at the Scottish Hotel Awards.

The Scottish Hotel Awards took place virtually on 26 May and recognised hotels across the country for their achievements. Alongside winning the two awards, team members Jonathan Sisamon Valdes was named Concierge of the Year and Ruben Goncalves was named Drinks Specialist for the second year running.

The 77-room hotel offers more than 140 Scotch whiskies alongside non-whisky based cocktails to suit its guest needs. The Glasshouse is also a fully licenced wedding venue, which offers a rooftop garden for its guests.

Tom Gibson, general manager, The Glasshouse Hotel, said: “The awards recognised that the hotel’s whisky experience goes beyond the bar, with the hotel’s 17 luxury suites all named after a Scottish Whisky distillery or region including Islay, Macallan, Dalwhinnie and Glenfiddich. The knowledgeable hotel team also offer the Glasshouse Whisky Experience as well as the signature Elite Whisky Experience and can arrange private guided distillery tours for guests looking to delve even deeper.

“We are delighted to be recognised across multiple categories in this year’s awards and it is fantastic for to get the Whisky Snug on the map, especially when up against such strong competition. We look forward to welcoming guests back to the bar and hotel when it is safe to do so and also look forward to celebrating the weddings of many happy couples who may have had to postpone their big days this year.”
