Gibson Hall in London hosted, 12 June, the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) for its 50th birthday celebration of the ATM machine.
The celebration saw the Grade I listed, former banking hall welcome 200 guests in its Main Hall for a dinner prepared by in-house venue management and catering team, Kudos.
The first ATM machine was used at Barclays Bank, Enfield, in 1967 and the Gibson Hall function offered delegates the chance to celebrate the advancement in ATM technology which has revolutionised financial services and access to currency.
Representatives from major banks attended the dinner, alongside the ATM creator, John Shepard-Barron’s son.
Gibson Hall’s venue manager, Melissa Goldberg introduced the venue’s rich history as London’s largest banking hall and spoke of the role the venue played in the National Provincial Bank’s merger with the Westminster Bank to form the National Westminster Bank.
“Gibson Hall being chosen to host such a prestigious event was an honour as this former banking hall has deep roots within the financial sector,” said Goldberg.
Kudos is part of Crown Partnership – a provider of food, venue and event solutions.
