Genero, an events and media production agency has announced its office expansion into the cities of Bristol and London. The expansion aims to provide more opportunities for Welsh businesses.

Bristol’s events industry has been experiencing an increase in investment, which encouraged Genero’s expansion. For example, the YTL Arena development has created one million visitors per year, 500 new jobs and an estimated £700m which will contribute to the local economy across the next 25 years.

Ashton Gate Sports and Convention Centre has planned a £100m development for 2022. This will create a 4,000-capacity venue and the opportunity to develop into a city quarter with housing, hotels, a multi-storey car park and offices.

Boomtown Festival UK is also aiming to organise more exhibitions and conferences in a new 3,500-capacity venue, along with Bristol University which is developing its conference and meeting spaces.

Alongside Genero, Olympia London has a £1bn investment for its expansion project. Additionally, Exhibition London has expanded to a 3,000-capacity for its exhibitions, conferences, live music events, award ceremonies and brand experiences.

Ali Morrill, client’s relationship manager at Genero, said: “Genero have worked in Bristol and London for a number of years and have built a strong client network across both Cities. With the very exciting development plans for Bristol and London, we felt it was the perfect time for us to increase our activities in these areas of growth.

“These are exciting times; we are really looking forward to continuing to build our presence in Bristol and London and meeting new clients to showcase the event services we offer.”
