Transport for London (TfL) has revealed that 9 December will be the last day for the Olympia weekday tube service.

A TfL spokeswoman told CN
the service cut has been timed with the tube’s seasonal timetable
adjustment on 11 December. However, the London International Horse Show,
which runs at Olympia from 13 to 19 December, will have a tube service,
venue owner EC&O Venues confirmed.

“We have negotiated a
special event service that will run mid-week on especially busy event
days,” the company said in a statement. “During the London International
Horse Show this will provide two District Line trains per hour running
from High Street Kensington via Earl’s Court to Olympia.”

As a
result of the tube cut, London Overground will provide the easiest
transport service to Olympia, with up to 10 trains an hour stopping at
the station.

In September, TfL confirmed it would cancel the Olympia tube service as part of an overhaul of the District Line.

London Underground said the cut was
necessary in order to introduce additional services on the Wimbledon
branch of the District Line.
