The National Railway Museum in York, 7 June, welcomed local and national booking agents to experience the unique event spaces around the museum first hand and to meet the new strengthened events team. There was also a sneak peek at the NRM rebrand and upcoming programme of engaging events.

The evening began with networking drinks and bowl food in Station Hall, served by in-house catering partner Levy UK.

After networking, guests were treated to a tour of the famous royal carriages in residence at the museum, before moving to the Great Hall via the use of the National Railway Museum Road Train for a tour of the museum’s Conference Centre and its Evening Star Theatre, Mallard Suite and Rocket Room.

Agents also took part in a treasure hunt among the locomotives, including Mallard – the world’s fastest steam locomotive. The winners of the treasure hunt were awarded Afternoon Tea on the award-winning Countess of York.

Helen Beresford-Boyse, event sales manager at the National Railway Museum, said: “We really enjoyed spending the evening with so many of our key clients, as well as introducing some new faces to the museum’s one-of-a-kind offering. With demand high for bespoke experiences, our unique collection provides a truly striking backdrop for events and it was fantastic to demonstrate how our spaces can be transformed into stand-out locations for dinners and receptions, as well as showcasing our variety of conference suites.”

It is shaping up to be an exciting year for the museum, with its fresh-look rebrand and the return of the Flying Scotsman in the autumn and a special dinner package starring Scottish-inspired cuisine.
