Follow the Folk, a Spanish culinary start-up, has presented its gastronomy culinary approach at Destin-ATE which was hosted by the Leading Hotels of the World.
Follow the Folk was invited to participate in Destin-ATE as part of the IBTM World Event Business Accelerator Programme.
At the event, corporate event planners explored Spain, France and Portugal culinary dishes and some of the MICE experiences that are available in each of these countries.
Magdalena Barceló, co-founder of Follow the Folk, explained that the company’s mission is to change the way each of their guests relate to food, their environment, and each other, generating a positive impact on each individual and on the local communities.
Charla Forinton, director, Leading Hotels of the World, said: “We are delighted to work alongside this creative start up to promote the destinations where our member hotels are located.”
Our guests are interested in being more than just tourists in Spain. They are interested in truly experiencing this beautiful country and developing a deeper understanding of its people and traditions.”
The sustainable and authentic expeditions curated by Follow the Folk respond to the growing interest in culinary experiences, offering an extraordinary business or leisure activity for groups that is a perfect complement to the uncommon offerings of Leading Hotels of the World properties.
David Thompson, creator and director, IBTM World Events Business Accelerator Programme, commented: “It is opportunities like this that remind us why we created the Event Business Accelerator. Follow the Folk is a start-up business with a unique offering and two incredibly talented owners in Magdalena and Raquel and, with guidance from one of our industry’s most successful entrepreneurs, they will have doors opened to them a lot sooner than would have done doing this alone. I am a great believer that everyone needs a mentor and who better than in the form of Mark Riches. Follow the Folk are certainly ones to watch in 2020.”
