The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA), since its inception in 1948, has established itself as a premier global platform for the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries. It remains a key event for showcasing technological advancements and fostering business relationships within these sectors.
Mical De Boer, managing director of Losberger De Boer, highlighted the company’s long-term commitment to the FIA: “Losberger De Boer has been involved with the FIA since 1996, contributing to the exhibition’s growth into the world’s leading airshow.”
The company constructs over 52,000 sqm of exhibition and hospitality space, utilising ten different structures, including the Emperor, Alu Hall, Premier, and Anova.

The scale of this project necessitates extensive logistical planning, which begins almost immediately after the conclusion of each show. De Boer said: “We have a dedicated team on-site 24/7 for the six months required to build and dismantle the show.”
Losberger De Boer creates four expansive exhibition halls and more than a kilometre of business chalets. These facilities provide secure and private environments for aerospace companies to host VIPs and conduct business meetings. Around 4,000 contractors then set up state-of-the-art exhibition stands and fit out the business chalets.

Solar4Rental Initiative at FIA
This year, Losberger De Boer tested its new temporary solar panels at the FIA, following a successful pilot at Schagen on Ice. The panels, installed on welfare facilities, generated 8520 Wp from 24 units. Each frame can save up to 7741 kWh and 2748 kg of CO2 annually, equivalent to 131 trees. The panels will operate from March to August, producing a total of 5,473.34 kWh, enough to power two average-sized homes in the UK for a year.
Solar4Rental is designed with sustainability in mind, focusing on durability, repairability, and recyclability. The initiative aims to provide economic benefits through cost savings and environmental advantages by reducing carbon emissions.
The Farnborough International Airshow continues to be a significant event for the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries, with Losberger De Boer playing a crucial role in its execution and success.
