Expotel awarded Silver in Investors in People

Hotel and event management agency Expotel has been awarded the Silver Investors in People accreditation.
 
The company was first recognised as Investors in People in 2001. Investors in People offers a practical tool for improving business permance and competitiveness through good practice in people management.
 
This year the assessor said the agency’s strengths were its managers to set clear objectives, provide regular feedback on permance and act on comments and suggestions made by individuals; clear and fair recognition and reward strategies are used which help to motivate individuals to perm to the best of their ability; and there are effective strategies in place for promoting equality, diversity and work life balance.
 
“Over the years, I have seen the company grow from strength to strength and much of its success is purely down to the commitment and quality of its people,” said the Investors in People Assessor, Claire Levey. “Management development has reached another level and there are genuine, enthusiastic, hardworking managers who have created strong, motivated teams. The efforts of the focus group around core values is particularly noteworthy and having a passionate and customer focused workforce will always bring business dividends.”
 
Expotel provides hotel, travel and conference and event management services in the UK and overseas with a turnover of £180m in 2010 including over 20,000 conferences and one million bednights. The agency employs 400 staff from offices in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Stockport andSwindon.
