Privately owned hotel company, Exclusive Collection, has published an impact statement outlining its progress since achieving B Corp status.

Exclusive Collection is the UK’s first hotel company to achieve B Corp certification.

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

Applicants are required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency.

Impact statement: what’s included?

The latest document highlights its ongoing commitment to; reduce, reuse, recycle; educating its supply chain; the hotels’ contributions to its local communities, as well as activities around the company’s carbon road map.

One of the most far-reaching initiatives that has been put in place is working with Land App. This technology aims to help Exclusive use its hotels, estates, and landscapes as an opportunity to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and help preserve the wider environment.

Each estate has been surveyed, mapped, and planned to help better understand each location’s habitats and to promote Exclusive’s stewardship of the local countryside and environment. An example of this is the planting of a six hectares vineyard at South Lodge, with fellow B Corp brand Ridgeview Wine Estate.

A round up will be published in October 2023 to mark Exclusive Collection’s two-year anniversary as a B Corp.
