Event Travel Management (ETM) has appointed Chris Walters as its new sales manager.
Walters (pictured) joins ETM with over 15 years of experience in the MICE sector. Following graduation from the UK Centre of Events Management at Leeds Beckett University, he worked in a number of operational event roles before moving into more commercially focused positions for various UK agencies.
Mike Leeson, general manager, Europe, ETM, said Walter’s experience will be key in supporting ETM’s growth strategy, raising the profile of its brand in Europe and bringing new customers on board.
Commenting on his new role, Walters said: “I’m looking forward to supporting ETM’s clients navigate the everchanging landscape of the events world that we are currently operating in. With the increased focus on sustainability and emerging technologies, I’m excited to be working with the ETM team to create some impactful connected experiences to support our customers’ event objectives.”

The appointment follows ETM’s recruitment drive across the business, including the events, group travel and venue sourcing operational teams as well as key support and technology roles.
Leeson said: “We are seeing record numbers of enquiries and confirmed business – a great mix of new business wins and increased activity from existing clients.
“Our teams have been working hard to nurture relationships with our clients and support them with the return and growth of their meetings and events programmes. Over the next 12 months, we’ll be putting a lot of focus on developing our client-facing technology and growing our creative events and SMMP offerings.”
