The chair of the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA), Chris Criscione, has taken up the position of chair of the Events Industry Alliance (EIA) as part of the rotation policy through the three industry associations that make up the EIA – ESSA, the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) and the Association of Event Venues (AEV).
“I am delighted to take up the post of chair for the EIA, the more we work together with organisers and venues to improve the experience of the exhibitor and the visitor the stronger our industry will become. I don’t think we should be complacent, we have some challenges to address and I’m sure we will have some robust discussions, and an honest debate will deliver a better industry for all of us,” said Criscione.
“Jeremy Rees has been an excellent chair for the past 12 months and I would like to thank him for his time, effort and commitment to making the EIA a success,” he added.
Rees, of ExCeL, London steps down following the end of his tenure. Criscione is currently halfway through his 2-year term as chair of ESSA. Martin Cairns of Reeds Carpets will follow him into the ESSA chair.
After Criscione the EIA chair will pass to the chair of the AEO.
