The flagship event of the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) is returning to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
About 100 managing directors and chief executives from the industry’s leading contractor companies are expected to attend the ESSA G50+Conference on 22 November. Disaster planning, changes in the venue landscape and the international marketplace will feature in the day’s discussion.
ESSA Director Chris Skeith described the strategic event as part of the association’s aims to develop and provide business-critical information for members.
“This is our flagship event and has been created to educate and inform our members, from large organisations to SMEs,” he said. “It helps our members to operate more efficiently today and gives them information that will help them plan for the future. It also provides important time to forge and foster relationships. And above all, it does it in style with entertainment thrown in.”
The ESSA G50+Conference was last held at the Ricoh Arena in 2009.
“We are delighted to be returning to the Ricoh Arena,” Skeith added. “When we were there in 2009 we were very impressed with the venue and the service – the venue team made us very welcome and the event ran perfectly, which made the ESSA board’s decision to return an easy one.
“The location of the venue in the heart of the country also makes it convenient for everyone, and the flexibility of the space lends itself to some exciting developments we are planning for the conference this year.”
Venue director at the Ricoh Arena Laurie Dalrymple labelled the G50+ a high-profile event within the industry.
“This will be a day of hearing from experts within the sector on a whole host of relevant topics,” he said. “Since the numbers attending the ESSA conference continues to increase on an annual basis, the speakers will be based in the Legends Lounge and the break-out area will be in the Jaguar Club.
“We also wanted to inject something a little different and decided to make use of the casino for the evening meal,” he added.
The Ricoh Arena is a member of ESSA’s sister association the Association of Event Venues (AEV).
