The largest regional gathering for those responsible for the region’s DataCentres and other mission critical environments, DataCentres North 2018, is coming to Manchester’s Emirates Old Trafford, 1-2 May.

Organisers say the free-to-attend event will host expert speakers, 30 exhibitors, 45 speakers, and 500 industry professionals under one roof.

The event is now in its fourth year and brings together leaders in the field of data hosting for two days. The event combines a product and services exhibition with a multi-stream conference, with the audience largely anyone involved in commissioning, designing, maintaining or operating data centres, servers and comms rooms.

Topics to be covered at the conference, which is the largest of its kind taking place outside London, will include certifications and standards, edge computing and smart grids, connectivity (both local and international), fire safety and cooling, and data compliance for Brexit.

A dinner held at the close of the first day of the event (1 May), will provide a major opportunity for networking and will have the BBC sports presenter Garry Richardson as after dinner speaker.

Head of sales at Emirates Old Trafford, Angela Hodson, says: “We’re delighted to be working with DataCentres North and are looking forward to welcoming them for the regional gathering this spring.

“The large exhibition is being hosted in our flagship facility, The Point, and we’re really looking forward to seeing how DataCentres will bring the room to life. For those looking to attend both days, we’re delighted to be able to offer a four-star Hilton Garden Inn, on site.”

DataCentres North was founded by StepEx, an exhibitions and publishing company established in 2007.
