Emerald Headingley Stadium, part of the Sodexo Sports & Leisure and Prestige Venues & Events portfolio, has reported the success of its conference and events following the venues refurbishment.
The Leeds-based venue has experienced a £40m investment in 2019, which has created a new Emerald Stand among other event spaces. This has increased its spend per head by 19% year-on-year and its guest attendance has proven to increase by 27%.
The Emerald Suite has panoramic views over two international stadia and includes 10 plasma screens and expansive windows overlooking each pitch, which can host up to 500 guests for dining.
The next phase of its refurbishments will see the re-opening of The Long Room, which will be completed at the end of March 2020. The room will accommodate for 350 people for a conference, training session or away-day and offers views over the Headingley cricket pitch.
Kelly Knowles, head of business development at Emerald Headingley Stadium, commented: “Everyone at Emerald Headingley is extremely proud of the refurbishments that have taken place. We have already had a number of new market segments making use of these new contemporary spaces, from large conferences to private functions, and we look forward to hosting an array of exciting events in the future.”
