On 1 March, 130 guests from across the events industry gathered at The Hoxton, Holborn, to celebrate the kick off of the Elevate mentoring programme’s seventh year.
This year saw 285 applicants to the programme from eight countries, bringing its total number of mentees to 1500 over the past seven years.
The evening itself allowed Elevate to introduce its partners for 2023, Owl Live, We Are Collider, The Hoxton and Special Sauce.
Max Fellows, co-founder, Elevate, said: “When Mel and I launched Elevate seven years ago, we had no idea just how big it would become. We are so grateful to everyone – our mentors and mentees, our partners and supporters – for their continued faith.”
Melissa Noakes, co-founder, Elevate, said: “This year is especially exciting as we are focusing on social mobility – working with young people aged 16-25, in particular those from lower socio-economic backgrounds such as those leaving the care or youth justice systems. By nurturing such underrepresented talent, we can in turn help ensure the events industry as a whole becomes more diverse.”
