Managing Director Douglas O’Neill has acquired majority ownership of the Inntel family agency business founded by his father.

James
O’Neill started the business in 1984. There is a small shareholding
remaining elsewhere in the immediate family, but, following the change,
Inntel will remain entirely in O’Neill family hands.

New investment accompanies the new ownership structure, although a figure was not initially revealed.

“This
is a very exciting time, both for me personally and for Inntel,
fulfilling the long-term strategy I had for the company since I left a
career as a solicitor and joined Inntel in 2001,” said Douglas O’Neill.

Inntel has grown fast, with the company claiming recent year-on-year growth of 98 per cent.

The plan, said O’Neill, was to invest more heavily in IT and staff development.

“I
look forward to working with my team in the coming years as Inntel
continues to grow, both as a company and as an industry leader,” the MD
added.
