On 11 October Dish fed 600 event industry guests in the space that will become the Great Gallery at Tobacco Dock with a sushi belt and a chef on hand to demonstrate the art of rolling sushi. The sushi belt provided some live foodie theatre while event organisers were refreshed with sake, sparkling wine and beer.
Dish was one of four caterers at the Re-Birthday of Tobacco Dock launched as Historic London’s newest event space. Tobacco Dock is located in Wapping, just 10 minutes from Tower Bridge. The night showcased the 16,000sqm venue to the industry for the first time, with each company on the newly-launched preferred suppliers list showcasing their talents.
Each caterer (Create, Nomad and Richmond as well as Dish) had their own space in which to do as they desired, teaming up with a production and entertainment company to keep guests entertained.
Tobacco Dock is able to accommodate up to 3,500 people at once. There are 50 separate spaces located within five different zones: Great Gallery, East Mall Conferencing, Vaults, Quayside and Quayside West. The venue has 800 parking spaces and is a 10 minute quayside stroll from Tower Hill or five minutes from Wapping (Overground) or Shadwell DLR and Overground.
