The Future in 15 Show has partnered with Event Planners Talk to address the future of event recruitment in a hybrid event format on 3 April in Blooms London.

The evening event will begin with the Event Planners Talk Twitter chat and be followed by the The Future in 15 Show and more in-depth discussion leading to actionable takeaways.

The session will be led by Robert Kenward, a 17-year veteran of the recruitment and events sector. He is also vice-chair of EWL, a networking and knowledge sharing group for event professionals in the UK.

The event will be moderated by Future in 15 Show host Caleb Parker.

Organisers say the perception is of recruitment companies carrying a certain stigma due to the transactional nature of their service, rather than being seen to add value to businesses. The high turnover rates at entry level also feeds into a certain apathy about this lost art, they claim.

The 3 April session is designed look at what sort of innovation is happening in recruitment to create more value for the events industry and offer ideas on how eventprofs can take control of they recruitment planning to alleviate cost and angst.

“Recruitment isn’t a dirty word, but the way people do it is. My aim is to share some practical tips that event professionals can use at work the next day and understand how recruitment can be their friend,” says Kenward.

He adds the online chat will aim to answer the following questions: What is the best way to recruit staff? How can you improve retention rates for new starters? How do you attract the ‘right ‘talent in the first place? What should a recruitment strategy look like? Why do people not want to join a company? How do you improve the candidate experience? And how can my consumer/employer brand help with recruitment?

Based on the online chat discussion and feedback, the live discussion will be designed to address the topics of most interest.

Tickets for the event are available here.
