Creative and digital communications agency, CTN Communications, has been named as one of the UK’s top 100 creative sector small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to be included in the Government’s new Creative Sector Taskforce.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will support the taskforce, which is aiming to win high value overseas contracts in the next three years. The initiative is part of the government’s plan to get more UK businesses exporting.
Each company in the taskforce will have its own international expansion plan and participate in a minimum of two official overseas visits each year to target high value projects. UKTI’s High Value Opportunities (HVO) programme focuses on 100 projects worldwide, each of which are over £500m in budget value and where the UK can compete for at least £250m.
More than 50 per cent of the CTN’s current work is delivered outside of the UK.
Participation in the government’s new creative taskforce will help CTN access opportunities in emerging markets in Asia and the Middle East and countries like Russia and Brazil, where Britain enjoys a reputation as a leader in the creative industries. CTN will benefit from access to UKTI’s International Trade Advisers and specialists in British embassies and diplomatic offices around the world.
“Collectively the UK’s creative industries already generate more than £36bn a year for the UK economy,” says Business Secretary, Rt. Hon. Vince Cable MP (pictured). “With new support from UKTI, we want to help creative SMEs access more high value supply chain opportunities across the globe.”
