The Creative Engagement Group (TCEG) has appointed Sophie Atkins (pictured) as its sustainability manager to help drive its sustainability strategy.
Atkins joins TCEG from Abri, a not-for-profit housing association based in the south of England, where she was sustainability programme manager.
In her new role, Atkins will report to Tim Williams, director of operations at The Creative Engagement Group. She will focus on five core areas: environmental sustainability; health and wellbeing; community; diversity, equity and inclusion; and business practice and ethics.
Atkins will also support the group’s clients and project teams in their sustainability strategies, liaising with industry sustainability body isla and developing its usage of the TRACE sustainability tracker.
Currently, Atkins is undertaking MSc Management for a Sustainable Future and CMI Level 7 Strategic Leadership and Management. She is also a Change Management Practitioner and is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project.
Commenting on the news, Atkins said: “While we continue to face societal, economic, environmental, and political uncertainties, one thing that remains certain is the need to make meaningful changes now to protect people and the planet today, tomorrow and for years to come. The future doesn’t happen to us, we co-create it.”
Williams added: “I’m excited about helping our clients further to achieve their sustainability objectives, as well as accelerating our own sustainability journey”.
