Corporate Traveller, a UK travel management company, has announced that in July 2021 it signed £4.9m worth of new business, comprised of 26 new clients.

These 26 SME clients come from a diverse range of industries, with the top five sectors committing to the largest spend post-pandemic being:

Manufacturing and engineering with a combined spend of £1,360,000.

Media, film, and TV with a combined spend of £760,000.

Charity and non-profit with a spend of £750,000.

Technology industry with a combined spend of £675,000.

Pharmaceuticals and healthcare with a combined spend of £400,000.

The SME sector has realised the need for a person-based travel management solution in combination with technology.

In addition, companies are increasingly taking a more formal approach since the pandemic, introducing an RFP or RFI tender process, which also needs to include increased sustainability credentials and duty of care elements.

Gary James, head of sales for Corporate Traveller, said: “The signing of these new clients is an indicator that business travel is back on the agenda for many SMEs, with international travel becoming more feasible as Covid-19 restrictions ease worldwide. Corporate Traveller is uniquely placed to offer bespoke advice to SMEs preparing to return to travel, and we encourage these companies to reach out to us for advice on how to amend travel policies, reorganise opportunities in their programme in order to save money, and find the right travel providers for their employees to ensure they travel safely and with peace of mind.”
