The conference will take place at the Baker Hughes Conference and Exhibition Hub at P&J Live between 21-24 September next year and will welcome 3,000 members to the region.

P&J Live is Scotland’s new event complex which consists of 48,000sqm of multi-purpose event space. This space includes seven conference suites, three exhibition halls, 11 meeting rooms and a 9,000sqm arena.

The region has also opened a new road scheme known as the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, Aberdeen International Airport and a new harbour development.

Justine Clarke, chief operating officer, BOA, said: “We are delighted to bring the British Orthopaedic Association Congress to P&J Live, Aberdeen in 2021 and excited about and the opportunity to return to Scotland at this state-of-the-art venue. The events space will help maximise the opportunities for creating a large and engaging exhibition and provide our delegates with a unique Congress experience.”

Nick Waight, managing director, P&J Live, commented that the new venue “puts Aberdeen on the map, situated just 1.5 miles from the airport, and only an hour flight from London we are more accessible than ever.”

Chris Foy, chief executive officer, VisitAberdeenshire, concluded: “The Convention and Events Bureau has been working collaboratively with the P&J Live team to help attract high calibre business events, that will in turn, bring new visitors to the region.
