Birmingham-based hotel and conference centre at Aston University, Conference Aston claims its new iPad app is the first in the Academic Venues arena.

The venue launched the app at the Academic Venue Show on the 16 May in
London and says it attracted a lot of interest from industry associations and other
venues.

The Apple-based application provides delegates with all the information they need to know about Conference Aston prior to their arrival including information about the facilities, delegate rates, how to find the venue and further information links to the website. Users can scroll through the various image galleries, floor plans and information pages.

“We are constantly looking at how event
organisers and delegates are finding out about the venues and in the past six
months we have seen a notable increase in traffic from tablet devices,” says Marketing
Manager for Conference Aston, Paul Bunce. “Although the website is always
available, we wanted to develop something customised for tablet users that
would allow quick and easy access for everything from room capacities to hotel check in times for
delegates arriving for their conference.

“It even has a copy of the bar menu so
delegates can choose what they would like to eat before they get here.”

The app is available to download for free from the iTunes Store.
