Wirral-based catering company, Pickled Walnut, has secured a catering contract at Combermere Abbey in Cheshire. The company is now one of two preferred caterers for the abbey, which is open for conferences and events.

Combermere Abbey, a former monastery and privately-owned estate, is located between Nantwich and Whitchurch. The venue caters for weddings and events in its walled gardens, and accommodation is also available for up to 49 guests. In May, its cottages won Visit England’s Gold Award for Best Self Catering Accommodation Provider.

“Collectively we will enhance guests’ experience by bringing a host of unique ideas to the table both on product, food and service delivery,” says Jamie Anderson, Brand Director for Pickled Walnut.

Owner of the abbey, Sarah Callander Beckett, added: “As our venue becomes more established for weddings and other events, we felt it was time to offer even more variety to our clients.

“Jamie and his team bring an experience to the Walled Gardens which goes far beyond the food offering, wonderful though that is, they also are fabulous party-givers, bringing an extra dimension to our events.”

Pickled Walnut is expanding and recently announced that it was managing all the hospitality, including the café and events catering at The Florrie in Liverpool’s Dingle. It also announced a new events division earlier this year and new contracts at Caldy Golf Club in Wirral and Grange Park Golf Club in St Helens.

The company caters for 21 venues throughout the North West for private, corporate and civic clients. They include Liverpool Town Hall; St George’s Hall, Liverpool; Hoghton Tower, Blackpool and Manchester Cathedral.
