The latest industry trend reports reveal a notable rise in B2B event revenues. In addition, satisfaction levels are significantly up among sponsors and exhibitors. A recent report by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, highlights the positive industry trends with data demonstrating the vast improvement in Net Promoter Scores (NPS), going from -18 to +8 between 2016 and 2023.

The industry’s accelerated digital transformation, in response to the pandemic, not only reaffirmed the importance of human connection and the need for face-to-face meetings but also ushered in a new landscape where virtual, in-person and hybrid event formats can thrive. Leveraging event technology effectively is crucial to enabling organisations to deliver their programmes successfully across all formats.

The UK sector has bounced back according to the latest research from the UK Conference and Meeting Survey 2023 (UKCAMS). The UKCAMS report shows that, in 2022, there were an estimated 1.02 million conferences and meetings in the UK, representing a substantial recovery from 2020 and 2021 (0.2 million and 0.44 million events respectively).

With momentum back and optimism for future development, The Conference News and Cvent Event Tech Survey 2024 reveals a pivotal shift in the event industry’s focus, transitioning from revenue generation to prioritising attendee experience and engagement – a strategy proving highly effective in event growth. The industry has evolved; where return on investment (ROI) once dominated as the key KPI, satisfaction is now recognised as a leading factor in achieving better event experiences and profitable long-term results.
