Meeting Professionals International (MPI) is offering delegates at its European Meetings and Events Conference (EMEC) the opportunity to sit the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) exam on 28 January.
The exam is scheduled on the day prior to the conference (29-31 January 2012).
The CMP is offered through the Convention Industry Council and its designation demonstrates professional commitment to the standards of the industry.
“MPI is excited that CIC is extending the application for the CMP examination at the EMEC in Budapest to 30 November,” said Diana Rogers, MPI Director of Professional Development. “We would love to host as many qualified EMEA candidates as possible. Meeting professionals in the region have the opportunity to join the elite CMP community, and we hope they will take advantage of the extended deadline.”
The test will be the last chance for European professionals to take the paper and pencil version of the exam that is based on the previous CIC Blueprint. CIC recently updated their body of knowledge, and future CMP exams will be administered via computer.
MPI is offering an intensive prep course in Budapest on Friday, 27 January for an additional fee.
Registration for EMEC is now open, with early rates of €599 for members and €899 for non-members available until 6 January 2012.
MPI Chairman Sebastien Tondeur is confident of building on last year’s “most highly rated EMEC education ever”.
“As a global community, we are constantly connected digitally and socially, for learning and for business. In Budapest, we have an ideal opportunity to empower our network and turn it into actionable business opportunities. When people meet, we change the world,” said Tondeur.
This year conference content is organised under the areas Educate, Exchange and Experience.
There will be 28 concurrent sessions from 22 European speakers
