Ascott, the world’s largest international serviced residence
owner-operator, has announced that its Trlgar Square property will be
upgraded to a Citadines Prestige category by March 2012.
The Apart’hotel is the third Ascott property in London to be transformed in the last two years.
The
investment of more than £6m represents a complete redesign and
renovation over nine months, and will see the property renamed Citadines
Prestige Trlgar Square London.
The chain launched some of
the renovated spaces Wednesday night (29 February 2012) to a selection
event organisers and media.
The event was Olympic-themed with guests
meeting athletes from the Olympic Team GB.
All apartments, a
total of 187 ranging from studio to one- and two-bedroom apartments,
have air-conditioning, complimentary WiFi, flat-screen TV, well-equipped
kitchen and separate bathroom facilities. There is a 24-hour manned
reception, user-friendly business corner, lounge and breakfast areas and
car park.
This refurbishment is part of a transformation
programme which Ascott launched across Europe in 2010. Six Citadines
Apart’hotels have been upgraded to date including Trlgar Square, South Kensington (launched 2010) and Holborn-Covent Garden
(launched 2011) and three in Paris: Les Halles (launched November
2011), and previously Opéra Vendée and Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Other
Citadines Apart’hotels earmarked for transformation include La Défense
and Montparnasse in Paris, and properties in Brussels, Grenoble, Lille and Lyon.
Ascott operates 28,000 apartment units including over 6,000 under development in key cities throughout Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Gulf region.
