Center Parcs Conferences & Events has reopened its doors for corporate bookings at Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, following an extensive £4.5m refurbishment of its dedicated events venue, which began in May 2023.
Several well-known brands will be hosting their corporate retreats at The Venue this week, with a leading eyewear brand being the first group to step foot into the forest today (23 January).
As part of its multi-million-pound refurbishment, The Venue boasts a major extension which includes four new meeting spaces and an overall capacity of up to 550 delegates.
Other additions include a new entrance and reception area overlooking the lake, as well as two outdoor terraces and a significant investment in the AV and lighting systems.
Julia Green, head of corporate events at Center Parcs Conferences & Events, said: “I can’t think of a better start to 2024 than to be reawakening Sherwood Forest and see the venue spring back to life after nine months of hibernation.
“With Sherwood being our first UK village to open in 1987, we were keen to ensure that this upgrade respected the heritage of the venue, while still giving it a substantial ‘facelift’ to match the recent refurbishment of our venue in Woburn Forest – which we renovated back in September 2022. We couldn’t be happier with how the venue is looking and are eager to welcome new and returning clients over the coming months.”
Events booked at Sherwood Forest can include Centre Parcs’ team-building activities suited to the colder months such as Mission Possible, Adventure Quest and Conquer The Forest, plus a chance for delegates to enjoy the Winter Forest Lights or warm-up in the Aqua Sana spa in their downtime.
Businesses opting for an overnight stay can choose from 900 lodges – ranging from one-bedroom self-catered apartments and spacious Executive Lodges to luxurious Treehouses. Bicycles are available for delegates to travel to and from their lodges, get around the village and explore the forest at their leisure.
